Synopsis:
When her baby brother Mac is snatched by a murder of crows led by the mysterious Alexandra, twelve-year-old Prue McKeel and her awkward classmate Curtis Mehlberg follow them into Wildwood, a hidden, dangerously alive magical forest hanging on the edge of Portland. Navigating a hidden realm populated by enchanted creatures, loyal allies and formidable adversaries, the pair uncover secrets about the forest's fragile political balance as their quest to save Mac becomes a spectacular fight to save Wildwood itself, in Laika's first stop-motion feature in six years.
Review:
A handsomely crafted, richly imagined stop-motion epic that showcases Laika's singular visual artistry, even where its dense worldbuilding proves a lot to absorb within its lengthy runtime.
